GreenGrid^® systems provide many features that no other green roof system offers:

Modules – Patented GreenGrid^® modules are composed of 100% pre-consumer, recycled, high molecular weight polyethylene.

The Ultra-Extensive (2.5-inch depth) modules—supporting only sedum species—weigh approximately 11-13 pounds per square foot (wet).

The Standard Extensive (4-inch depth) modules—supporting mainly sedums, and some other native and perennial plant species—weigh approximately 18-22 pounds per square foot (wet).

The new GreenGrid G3 Extensive (4-inch depth) modules—also supporting mainly sedums, and some other native and perennial plant species—weigh approximately 21-25 pounds per square foot (wet).

The Intensive (8-inch depth) modules—supporting a large variety of ornamental perennials and grasses—weigh approximately 36-44 pounds per square foot (wet) and up depending on growth media composition and plant selection.

Growing Media –GreenGrid® Growth Media is an engineered light weight blend consisting of inorganic and organic components.   Formulations are based on the German FLL “Guidelines for Planning, Execution and Upkeep of Green-Roof Sites”

Preplanted or Pregrown Vegitation –The GreenGrid® arrives at the job site already planted and ready for installation.  This fact makes GreenGrid® installation much quicker than most of the traditional.  GreenGrid® plants are installed at the nursery prior to delivery.  Modules can also be grown out at the nursery over a period of months prior to installation.

Drip Irrigation Systems – The optional drip irrigation system (typically selected for Intensive systems) is designed for even watering of the plants. For many geographic areas/climates plants can be selected to withstand drought conditions.

Ecoballast^® – Filled with aggregate, Ecoballast^® provides a modular roof ballast with pre-determined water retention capability.

Edge Treatments – painted alluminum or steel edge treatments made from recycled materials (in various colors and designs) can be included as part of the GreenGrid^® system design.

Optional Features – Pavers made from recycled rubber, walkways, water ponds, outdoor furniture, and planter boxes can be incorporated into the GreenGrid^® system.
