Project Narrative: Weston installed the GreenGrid® extensive green roof system on a Kohl’s Department Store on Elston Street in Chicago, Illinois in the spring of 2005. Weston designed the green roof to cover 32,500 ft2 of the store roof with a mix of Sedum species.

This extensive green roof features 2,653 40”x40”x4” GreenGrid® modules preplanted with three different species of Sedum. The pre-planted modules were lifted to the roof using a 20-ton crane and installed over a 7-day period.
