Project Narrative: DGA Builders, an Design Build Firm in East Rochester, NY, installed a GreenGrid® system on a residence in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. This home is unique in design; all walls and sides of the residence are curved. Despite the challenge of fitting a grid system to a curved roof, installation was completed in just four hours.
The extensive green roof features a 9-species Sedum mix, selected for their ability to thrive in the Finger Lakes region climate. These modules were grown out for 3 months prior to installation, and provided substantial vegetative coverage at the time of installation. A variable-reach fork lift was used to quickly and safely lift modules to this limited access rooftop.
