Project Narrative: This green roof is part of a new addition to an eight-story Philadelphia, PA, area retirement home. The addition has two large skylights that are surrounded by extensive GreenGrid^® modules. All the apartments on this side of the building have balcony views of the newly “greened” addition. Installation was completed in approximately four hours, minimizing disruption to residents, and maximizing the “instant green” effect.

The extensive green roof layout was designed by Breckstone and features six different sedum species arranged randomly on the roof. The sedum in these modules had been growing for at least a year prior to installation and provided full coverage at the time of placement.
