The GreenGrid® business
follows WESTON’s safety program. WESTON
is a world-class leader in safety and is committed
to Safety First in all aspects of its operations.
All of our installers are trained in accordance
with the applicable OSHA standards, a particularly
important aspect when working on roofs. In
addition, since the GreenGrid® modules
arrive at the roof preplanted, there is less
time required for roof installation than with
traditional built up green roof systems.
WESTON’s corporate Environmental Health
and Safety (EHS) program is proactive in assessing
current and projected EHS needs and setting
strategies to meet anticipated requirements.
WESTON’s EHS program fully complies with
these standards:
-
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120
-
29 CFR 1926.65(b)
-
USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements
-
All related OSHA General Industry and
Construction Standards, Department of Transportation,
and EPA regulations
WESTON’s adherence to EHS legislative
and regulatory requirements, and the high-level
commitment of WESTON’s senior management
team to the EHS program, sends the powerful
message that WESTON takes all EHS concerns
seriously. WESTON utilizes integrated EHS management
systems to implement its corporate goal to
have 100%
of its employees and subcontractors working
safely 100% of the time.
Two traditional benchmarks for evaluating
WESTON’s EHS Program performance are
the workers’ compensation experience
modification rate (EMR) and the OSHA-Recordable
Incidence Rate (ORIR):
-
WESTON’s 2006 EMR of .42 is 58%
better than the average for all companies
similarly classified.
-
WESTON’s ORIR is also outstanding,
decreasing from 3.29 in 1998 to .92 in
2005.
